Sadkowski – Post 7

I think the movie poster for From Paris With Love is awesome.  I am a huge fan of white space and simple colors, so I thought this was very easy on the eyes.  My eyes immediately went to the hand and then went up.  Everything was placed very well: the typeface was right next to the gun/Eiffel Tower.  The designer really did a great job turning the gun into the Eiffel Tower.  It is very clever and reflects what Darren said about turning something into something else.  I have no idea what the movie is about, but I’m guessing it’s about crime and business.  I think the sans serif typefaces work really well here, even though a serif font is more expected.  The fact that the word “love” is written in red is cool too, because it emphasizes the title, which is so small and at the bottom of the poster.  Overall, I think this is a clever design.

I completely agree with you about the white space, it makes the poster very easy on the eyes and easy to understand. The poster sends a clear message about the movie and is not crowded with other useless information or graphics.
